We’ve read a number of solid, solemn eulogies for the print edition of Newsweek. We’ve also shared a couple of more frivolous POVs here.
But as far as a life dramatically impacted by this particular print-to-Web arc, it’s hard to beat the essay by veteran San Francisco journalist Benjamin Pimentel (pictured). Before helping the San Francisco Chronicle move to the Web in the mid-1990s and working as a west coast digital correspondent for the Philippine Daily Star, Pimentel looked forward while growing up in his native Filipino Quezon City to a motorcycle-delivered weekly copy of Newsweek:
